Dr.
Vijay Degaonkar son of a noble school teacher first did
his medical graduation & M.S. Orthopedic through Dr.
V.M. Medical College Solapur, in 1984. Then he did his
D.Ortho from College of Physian & Surgeon, Mumbai. In 1985 he
did post graduate course with 'A' grade from All India Institute
of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Center Haji Ali, Mumbai.
From 1985 to 1993 he served for "Solapur Sahakari Rugnalaya",
as Hon. Orthopedic Surgeon. The high echelons of Dr. Vijay Degaonkar in medical orthopedic surgery started on 1995 when he started his own Vivekanand Hospital right in the heart of the city to facilitate almost all needy patients. |

Vijay Degaonkar has introduced Russian surgical technique
‘Ilizaro’ for the first time in Solapur. He
has gone through training of joint replacement surgery in Germany
at “Frankfurt University Clinic” under
the auspicious supervision of German joint replacement
surgeon, Dr. Markus Frowling. After getting trained
from such world renowned joint replacement surgeon, Dr.
Vijay Degaonkar has established a separate department for
joint replacement surgery (knee joint, hip joint and small joints.)
